When dealing with a complex wound, the most important thing on your mind is healing—and healing quick. At Riverview Health Wound Care, we know complex wounds require advanced care and we’re committed to delivering cutting-edge treatments to help you heal faster.

Our dedicated wound care team provides care for hospitalized patients as well as those visiting on an outpatient basis. Our team includes physicians and nurse practitioners who specialize in wound care, vascular surgery, podiatry, infectious disease and internal medicine. In addition, our nurses are certified by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB), which gives them access to the most up-to-date research in this field.

Together, we provide you with a personalized care plan that includes a full range of services to meet your unique needs—whether it’s caring for a non-healing wound or providing ostomy or continence care. We use multiple therapies to effectively treat your condition, including:

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

This cutting-edge procedure uses air that’s greater than normal atmospheric pressure to deliver oxygen to organs and tissue, helping complex wounds quickly heal. We’re the only healthcare facility in Hamilton County to offer this advanced therapy.

Low-frequency ultrasound debridement

This technique uses ultrasound waves to gently remove dead or diseased tissue cell and bacteria, making it a preferred method of care for many types of complex wounds.

Transcutaneous oxygen measures

This noninvasive diagnostic procedure assesses the oxygen level of tissue beneath the skin—and is used to determine the healing capacity of the tissue.

Negative pressure wound therapy

This therapeutic technique uses a vacuum dressing to help heal acute or chronic wounds and first- or second-degree burns.

Compression therapy

This therapy uses compression bandages or hosiery to help treat or prevent varicose veins, eczema or venous leg ulcers.

Continence care

Our nurses help you manage incontinence issues that can result from infection, surgery, muscle or nerve dysfunction or psychological disorders. Services include skin care, dietary modifications, exercise therapy and bio-feedback therapy.

We recognize the importance of effectively treating your condition with not only the latest technologies, but also personalized care and attention. Our team is dedicated to helping you heal quickly—because the faster you heal, the faster you can feel better.

If you need ongoing in-home care for a complex wound, we also partner with Suburban Home Health to provide nursing and rehabilitation services in the comfort of your own home.
