Riverview Health relies on the assistance of hundreds of volunteers each year, and new volunteers are always welcome. Volunteering is great way to foster community involvement while helping others. The volunteer program at Riverview Health has been in existence for nearly 60 years, and volunteers have always made a tremendous impact, giving of their time and talents.
Some of the many volunteer service areas include patient transport, guest services, Carolyn's Corner gift shop at Riverview Health Westfield Hospital. Volunteers work in four-hour shifts in the morning or afternoon, at least one day per week. A one-day orientation and annual mandatory education session provides training and review on general hospital procedures.
Volunteer achievements are recognized during National Healthcare Volunteer Week and an annual holiday breakfast. Other benefits include complimentary meals during volunteer shifts and discounts in the Carolyn's Corner gift shop, Riverview Health Women’s Boutique and Riverview Health Rehab & Fitness centers.
