Family Medicine
“My background in ER ingrained a love for variety. I love to critically think through the challenges of the entire life span. I worked for Riverview Health all throughout grad school and have always felt at home in this health system.”
I provide acute, general and preventive care to the entire lifespan including women's health services. I am skilled in various outpatient procedures such as suturing, abscess care, biopsy, nail removal, placement/removal of implantable birth control, and lesion removal.
I am fluent in Spanish and am a great listener. My years in the ER cultivated a strong gut sense for when a higher level of care is truly indicated.
I worked as a bedside and travel ER nurse for five years in various trauma centers and rural settings. I was certified as a medical interpreter for 10 years, and I was a specialist in providing and navigating medicine to the uninsured. I am passionate about the reduction of racial disparities in medicine, and I built a training for Riverview staff to analyze implicit bias.
I am an advocate for patient empowerment, and I practice this through educating patients about all of their options, shared decision-making, and direct-to-consumer medicine. My role is to increase access to care, not add to the barriers.
