Screening mammography—A screening mammogram is for a woman who isn't experiencing any new problems in her breast. Take our questionnaire to self-schedule online >>
Computer-aided detection—After reviewing your mammogram, our radiologists refer to areas of interest marked by a computer, referred to as R2 Image Checker. This combination of information provides the most accurate diagnosis.
Diagnostic mammography—A diagnostic mammogram is necessary when a new symptom arises, when further evaluation is required as a result of previous imaging studies, or when there’s a personal history of breast cancer.
When mammograms are evaluated, our physicians review your previous mammogram images as well to help identify changes or instability in your breast.
The body composition scan is a simple low-dose X-ray that allows us to evaluate muscle, fat and bone composition in the body. The initial scan serves as a baseline and follow-up scans provide a method of measurement to monitor improvement in combination with a person's wellness plan. Insurance is not billed. Schedule online by taking our questionnaire >>
Ultrasound images of the breast are taken to complement mammography, to evaluate palpable lumps, and as imaging guidance for procedures, such as cyst aspirations and drainage of various breast fluids.
Vacuum-assisted core biopsy with stereotactic and ultrasound guidance—This image-guided biopsy is quick, accurate, needs no recovery time and does not cause scarring of your breast.
Pre-operative needle localization with excisional biopsy—The needle localization portion of this procedure is done in the Women’s Center, and the excisional biopsy is done in the Riverview Health Surgery Center.
Various other breast procedures—Additional procedures may be offered as necessary.
Should you need a biopsy, our specialized breast care team will work with you to ensure prompt testing. If a cancer diagnosis is made, our team will work with you to develop an individualized care plan and help explain treatment options.
A DEXA scan can help detect osteoporosis before a fracture occurs, as well as help determine an individual’s risk for fracture and monitor the effects of treatment.
We provide health education through various programs, including women’s seminars, health fairs and community days. These efforts encourage women to seek screenings in a comfortable atmosphere for a variety of health issues. View our Classes & Events.
There are hundreds of types of cancer, with some being much more common than others. The following are just some of the types of cancer we can diagnose and treat.
