Mark your calendar—Daylight Saving Time is Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. As the clock falls back, we are given 60 extra minutes in our weekend; let’s use that time to our benefit.
Here are some steps to use as a guide to maximize those extra 60 minutes:
- When evaluating all elements of well being in your life, picture a wave with its moving crests (peak) and troughs (lowest point).
- Think about what is going well in your life. List those items at or near the crest of the wave.
- Now, think about which areas of your life may need attention. List those items at or near the lowest point of the wave, the trough.
Let me share a secret with you—no matter how hard we try, not everything can be at the peak of the crest all the time. For example, if we are pursuing higher education, our finances may take a hit. If our social life is going well, our physical health may slip a little if sleep and exercise take a back seat to social outings.
With that, I challenge you to pick one thing that is lower on your wave of life and use those extra 60 minutes this weekend to give it the momentum it needs to ride upward! Waves are always moving, and so are our lives. The main goal is to never let anything hit rock bottom – that rough ocean floor – before taking action to lift it up.
