Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 1 mL serum or plasma into an ARUP standard transport tube (Min: 0.5 mL). FREEZE. 

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 8 months (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles)

Clinical Use

Reflexed as confirmation test for repeatedly reactive HIV 1/2 Antibodies screening (LAB2600).

This test discriminates between HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies.
