The health needs of women in various stages of life can be complex. From regular Pap exams and mammograms to the diagnosis and treatment of other health concerns such as menopause, the board-certified OB/GYN physicians at Riverview Health are here to guide you every step of the way.
For adolescents, Riverview Health OB/GYN physicians provide annual exams and vaccinations. They take the time to answer any questions that may arise and will help you and your daughter understand what to expect. Our OB/GYN experts recommend an initial consultation for girls between the ages of 13 and 15 to address issues they may face as they approach adulthood.
For women in their reproductive years, a strong collaboration between our OB/GYN doctors means you’ll have the support you need for a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Our experienced team of doctors provides comprehensive and convenient maternity services, including family planning and prenatal care and infertility services.
Women in mid-life and post-menopausal years often have special health needs. The OB/GYN doctors at Riverview Health specialize in the management of menopausal symptoms, intimacy concerns, breast health and more.
In addition, our OB/GYN experts provide complete osteoporosis care. Being of post-menopausal age is a prevalent risk factor for osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is called the “silent” disease because there are often no early warning signs and few outward indications of the disease until a fracture occurs. You may want to discuss with your physician about having a DEXA scan or bone mass measurement test done to help diagnose osteoporosis very early, even before significant bone loss has occurred.
Although each woman may have unique health needs, one thing remains the same for everyone: Prevention is key to overall health and well-being. Therefore, an annual exam is strongly recommended. But visiting your OB/GYN isn’t just about marking it off your to-do list once a year. It’s about staying on top of your health to minimize risk factors and live a longer, more active life.
Through wellness visits, the board certified OB/GYN physicians at Riverview Health focus on treating a woman as a whole and strive to create a place for open communication about overall health and well-being. So don’t just make an appointment when you’re sick. Take charge of your health by scheduling a wellness visit today. Use these appointments to check in on your health status through screenings and tests and talk about other health topics, such as nutrition, mental health, family planning and sexual dysfunction. Our doctors can also advise you on current national recommendations for Pap, pelvic and breast exams.
At Riverview Health, our OB/GYN physicians offer these and other women’s health services.
