As your joints wear out or become injured, they can become painful and limit your ability to do everyday tasks. Joint replacement can ease your pain and give you back mobility you may have lost.

Our expert team of orthopedics specialists helps guide you each step of the way through your joint replacement journey. We understand the anxiety you may feel when it comes to surgery, so we do our best to make the process as comfortable for you as possible.
It all starts with an informative pre-op class to help prepare you for what to expect during your surgery, recovery and rehabilitation. Together, we’ll review the details of your hospital stay—during which you’ll receive care from our knowledgeable physicians, and specially trained nurses and physical therapists. Through it all, our team works with you to meet your needs and manage your pain, while preparing you to care for your new joint after you return home or to an outpatient rehabilitation facility.
Our physicians are also trained in the latest technologies to help get you get back on your feet quickly after surgery. Riverview Health physicians use cryoneurolysis—a special instrument to freeze nerve endings—to help alleviate post-operative pain in the knee.
Our surgeons also practice the anterior hip approach for hip replacements allowing for the physician to avoid cutting through muscle. If this technique is right for you, the anterior hip approach is less invasive and often leads to an easier recovery and a smaller scar.
Through it all, our team works with you to meet your needs and manage your pain, while preparing you to care for your new joint after you return home or to an outpatient rehabilitation facility.
